Murder on the Orient Express is perhaps my favorite production from my time with Weathervane Playhouse. While Steel Magnolias may have eased me into stage management, this show threw me straight into the deep end. This production had much tighter lighting and sound cues that were timed off of actor movement, so my attention to detail was crucial while calling the show. Furthermore, this play had a large number of costume props that had different starting and ending locations. Making sure that all props were accounted for after each performance became a crucial part of my routine.
Overall, this production was such a joy to take part in. The play itself was comedic while also tense, and I often found something new to appreciate with every performance. It also helped to develop my skills as a collaborative artist, as I often worked together with my assistant stage manager, light board operator, and sound board operator to put on a cohesive performance every night.
