Hello!
I'm Kayla Jordan! I have a passion for stage management, theatre history, and dramaturgy, with a special interest in the development of new productions. I also have experience in props design and props management! Most recently, I have worked as a Production Assistant for Playmakers Repertory Company (Chapel Hill, NC) during their 2025-2026 season.
My Story (So Far)
I am a recent graduate from Elon University with a double major in Theatrical Design and Technology as well as Drama and Theatre Studies (and a psychology minor). During my time in college, I took on a variety of roles within the performing arts department, including assistant stage manager, props manager, and dramaturg (to name a few!). I greatly enjoyed my early work with Renegade Productions, a student-run theatre organization, as well as mainstage productions with the Department of Performing Arts. During my junior and senior years, I began to simultaneously explore my fascination with props design and dramaturgy, leading me to develop a unique blend of skills that is drawn from my experience as both an artist and a scholar.

In the fall of 2024, I received multiple awards for my dedication to the arts, including one for Exemplary Development in Theatrical Design and Technology, as well as the Drama and Theatre Studies Outstanding Scholar Award.

Most recently, I have enjoyed working for Playmakers Repertory Company as their production assistant for their 2025-2026 season. I supported the stage management team during the rehearsal process, managed a crew of undergraduate students during performances, and aided in the creation of paperwork such as shift plots, pre and post show prop checklists, and crew management files.
